This was tag sale day for Rhode Island. As we bike towards Providence on hwy 101 there were lots of bargains out in front of people's homes and lots of people pulling over onto the road shoulders to find them. We definitely had to stay alert. In Scituate as we approached hwy 116 north, cars were parking on the shoulder about a quarter of a mile from the intersection in all directions. There was a big arts and craft sale and it was a beautiful morning to enjoy it. In Providence, we rode around looking at Brown University and all the old architecture that make that city so nice and then took the Henderson Bridge over the Harbor. We had already pedaled 30 miles so we took a break at a local establishment called the Watchemoket Pub.
Afterwards we found a Rails To Trails path that ran south along the river to Bristol where we stopped and had another libation. It was a beautiful day, 80 degrees and no clouds in the sky.
We called Dave and Paula when we were about 30 minutes from Newport and they met us at First Beach where the three of us put our front tires in the Atlantic and Admired Our Dream!
